Kite Seasons Details

From January to March is usually our best month for wind. February is very consistent wind throughout the month with good tide. Wind average speed is from 12-18 knots and it's the best for learning and progressing. The island is very busy and our surf club is always filled with cool happy kiteboarders
July-August is the low tide month but we get consistent wind to very strong wind when the moonsoon arrive during the afternoon. December is NE wind and we go up north part of the island for 15-25 knots wind. Some time the wind will be from the east and it's will produce good wave riding in Haad Rin.
April has light wind but it's windy daily from 9-12 knots. Ok for learning and big kites May-June is the beginning of the monsoon season and we get stormy weather in the afternoon and strong wind can pick up to 25-40 knots. The tide will start getting lower during these months
October-November is our rainy season and wind is very unpredictable here. Tide is good but it will be rainy. Sometime before the rain, we will get enough wind to kite. The NE wind usually comes at the end of November and it can be from 15-20 knots on the east or north part of the island.

East Wind

When the wind comes more EAST then it will make Haad Rin beach a fun playground for kitesurfer. The bay has 2 tall mountains on each side which funnel the wind like a tunnel.

Northeast Wind Season

NE wind comes around November to Early January. We take 20 minutes to drive to the north part of the island, Chaloklum bay. We launch from Malibu beach, kite behind the reef for flat water and enjoy the big waves by the pier. Period: Nov, Dec & early Jan
